Privacy Policy

Public reading and site security

You can read without an account. Cloudflare processes request data such as your IP address, browser information, the requested URL and request time to deliver and protect the site. We rely on our legitimate interests in providing the site, preventing abuse and diagnosing failures. Cloudflare applies retention periods by log type and plan. The Workers Logs documentation describes its retention limits.

Author accounts

Cloudflare Access handles sign-in. The site stores an Access account identifier and your author display name, plus the works, drafts, covers, notes and revisions you save. If you sign in and use reading progress or bookmarks, the site stores them with your account. We process this information to provide the author workspace, protect each author's work and enable recovery. It is retained while needed to provide those features, preserve published works or resolve a request or dispute. You can contact us about removing an author account or its associated data.

Optional browser storage and Audiobook

If you choose a reader profile, the site stores your chosen name, reading positions, bookmarks and reading settings with Cloudflare to synchronise them between devices. Anyone who knows the name can open and change that profile; do not use a name you need to keep private. The profile does not grant author access. We store this data to provide the feature you request. Signing out or clearing browser storage does not delete the copy on the server. Contact us to request deletion of the profile and its data.

With your permission, this browser remembers your reading position, reading settings, Listen preferences and audiobook playback position. Anonymous reading positions are stored on the device. You can change your choice and clear the saved values in Privacy settings.

NovelsWriter uses YouTube API Services to retrieve playlist and video information, including chapter markers from video descriptions. When you play an embedded video, your browser connects to YouTube. YouTube may process device and playback information and use cookies or similar storage. It may serve content including advertising. The player uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed mode. You can withdraw your permission to load Audiobook in Privacy settings. See the Google Privacy Policy for how Google handles that data.

Listen uses your browser's speech synthesis. The voices available and how they process text depend on your browser, operating system and selected voice.

Contact, service providers and transfers

We use messages you send and the contact details you provide to respond to you. Our legitimate interest is to handle requests and keep a record for as long as needed to resolve them or meet applicable obligations.

Cloudflare provides hosting, storage and access control. Google provides YouTube and the contact mailbox. These providers can process data outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare describes safeguards for its services, including standard contractual clauses where applicable. Google explains its own practices and safeguards in its privacy policy. Your rights

Depending on the processing, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing or withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal. Send requests to blindzhd@gmail.com. You may lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority, such as ANSPDCP in Romania.

NovelsWriter is operated by Negrisan Costin Robert. Visitors may read and listen to works published on the site. Author tools are available to invited authors. Each author is responsible for material they submit and for having the rights needed to publish it.

Respect the rights described below. Do not impersonate an author, bypass access controls, access private drafts or accounts without permission, or interfere with the service.

Cookies & Storage

  • Cloudflare Access cookies maintain author sessions. Sign out to end your session, or use your browser's site-data controls.
  • An optional reader profile uses a cookie for up to 180 days and local storage to maintain the profile and queue reading changes for synchronisation. Signing out clears the profile cookie; server data remains until deletion is requested.
  • Optional local storage remembers reading and playback positions, bookmarks, and display and voice settings until cleared or removed by your browser. Use Privacy settings to enable saving or turn it off and clear these values.
  • The site remembers your storage choice in this browser. A language cookie remembers the interface language you select for up to 180 days. If you allow Audiobook, a site cookie remembers that choice for up to 180 days. You can withdraw it in Privacy settings. Your browser controls can also clear these choices.
  • Temporary Listen session state keeps the voice running across reader pages in the same tab. Unsaved author drafts may stay in local storage for recovery. Save edits before clearing browser data.
  • YouTube may use its own storage when its player loads. Turning off Audiobook here prevents new player loads on this site. Use browser controls for storage already set by YouTube.
